DT Donation

Double-triple setups that can be used as donations. Some of them can be executed before completing the entire setup, making them useful in mid-game.

After consuming the DT setup, an overhang is left on the field, making it possible to stack them on top of other overhang setups e.g. lucky hole, TST, STSD, imperial cross, single double, etc:

... or even another DT:

Note that not all DT setups can be stacked like this. Some of them use situational setup that require non-flat ground as the basement.

You usually only want to build these large structures when:

  1. there is no T in queue,
  2. the opponent missdropped and you want to build a big spike,
  3. or you have overstacked the right part so you can complete the setup with a few pieces.

DT Cannon

The famous DT cannon can be stacked from a flat ground, making it possible to stack on top of other units:

It is possible to execute early by donating the first TSD:

However, you still need at least 4 pieces to build the first TSD slot.

DT Cannon SZ prop

Another famous form of DT cannon.

This is more practical than regular DT. This is often used when you stack a TST/STSD but the right side is too high:

Instead of hanging a Z as the overhang, you can do a DT:

Be creative:

DT 2

The T slot is one layer higher than regular DT:

You often need to skim one line.

Both of them are situational setups.

The first form is T/S base:

The second form is O/J/L/Z base:

You are unlikely to use this in real game. In the first form, we usually build a magic key:

In the second form, we usually build a TST tower:

They all use the same number of pieces to build but DT2 requires a line clear.

Magic Key

The TSD slot is one layer higher than DT2:

As regular DT, magic key can be built on a flat ground, making it possible to stack on top of other units:

There is also a situational setup that allows us to consume the TSD early:

Compare to ISO:

This setup equals to TSD-DT2:

Since it is S/T base, we can use a another LS as the basement:

Which will become a TSD-DT-TST setup that can be built from the ground, result in an LS tower...

Reversed Magic Key (Reversed Crimson)

Unlike other DTs, this setup is not executable with its own.

It is composed by a TST and an up-side-down TSD.

To execute this setup, we must build it on top of other units (excluding lucky hole) to spin the TSD in:

One special thing is that, if we can get a 1101 ground, we can consume the TSD first:

Note how we raise four solid lines after consuming TSD, which makes this setup also be viable to stick the back to the wall:

This allows us to combine it with other back-to-wall DT like escalator to create a double-double-triple-triple:

Tower:

Elevator

It's an O/J/L/Z base situational DT:

Sometimes it is used to cleanup back-to-wall overhang i.e. using the lucky hole setup:

Elevator 2

The TSD slot is moved one cell away compared to regular elevator, result in extremely unbalanced parity:

To get rid of unbalanced parity, the TSD is often donated like:

The first form is T/S base:

Others are Z base:

ZTS CC Cannon

They are all L/I base:

JL CC Cannon 1

The first form is O/J/L/Z base DT:

The second form is T/S base:

Z Spin:

JL CC Cannon 2

This setup bases on an impractical board. You may want to move it to the right so J can be replaced by other pieces or consider to remember the situation of the entire setup combination e.g. TST, lucky hole, etc.

The easiest way to get this board is to build this DT-like stuff:

TST:

Lucky hole:
